Debbie Stabenow

Debbie Stabenow is running for re-election for her third term in the U.S. Senate. She faces a general election race. There are currently 16 Republican men and one woman listed as possible general election challengers to Senator Stabenow. Two have declared: Randy Hekman, MI Family Forum President and Peter Hoekstra, former U.S. Representative and 2010 Gubernatorial candidate.

During her tenure, Senator Stabenow has been a strong advocate and leader for women's rights. She has served as the Chair of the Democratic Steering & Outreach Committee which works on Democratic policy initiatives for the Senate.

Senator Stabenow has been a strong leader and friend on all women's rights issues. She has used her position as Chair of the Democratic Steering & Outreach Committee to promote key women's rights issues within the Senate Democratic Leadership and to outreach to a whole host of women's groups.

Prospects: Re-election chances are excellent

Opponent: 17 Republicans (1 of them a woman) are considering challenging her. The two announced candidates are:
